Lynn Courey
Lynn Courey is the founder of the Sashbear Foundation, a Canadian charity established in 2013 in memory of her daughter who died by suicide. The organization’s mandate is to empower family members and communities through education, awareness, and skills about borderline personality disorder.
Lynn is passionate about helping families with skills and hope to improve their own well-being and the positive role that families can play in the loved one’s (consumers) journey of recovery. Lynn has been recognized to bring a valuable family perspective to mental initiatives. She was awarded National Recipient in 2017 of “CAMH difference makers and in 2021, and through her organization, received the inaugural Perry Hoffman BPD Community Service Award.
