Sally Watson

Sally Watson is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 40 years experience working as a Social Worker working in a variety of settings. In the last 20 years she has primarily worked in the area of Infant Mental Health as a clinician and advocate. She was National President of the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH) from 2014- 2017. She is currently Vice President of the SA Branch of AAIMH and is on the National Board of AAIMH. Sally was initially trained in Attachment Bio-Behavioural Catch-Up in 2009 in the Infant Model. She is now a Supervisor in this model and has also trained in the Early Childhood and Newborn model of ABC. She has worked as an Infant Mental Health Practitioner in Early Childhood education contexts, Child Protection and Therapeutic Reunification, and CAMHS. Her current role is the Mother Infant therapist on the MI-DBT + Intervention at Helen Mayo House in Adelaide where she is implementing ABC. Sally has presented at conferences both Nationally and Internationally and has a chapter in a book Infants of Parents with Mental Illness – Developmental, Clinical, Cultural and Personal Perspectives, Edited by Anne Sved Williams and Vicki Crowley.
